Abstract

Background: Cancer treatment has shifted toward precision medicine, focusing on targeted therapies that address specific molecular pathways.

Objective: To review recent advancements in targeted cancer therapies and their impact on treatment outcomes.

Methods: A comprehensive review of clinical trials and meta-analyses evaluating targeted therapies, including monoclonal antibodies and tyrosine kinase inhibitors, was conducted.

Results: Targeted therapies have improved survival rates and reduced systemic toxicity compared to conventional chemotherapy. However, challenges such as drug resistance, tumor heterogeneity, and high treatment costs persist. Combination therapies and biomarker-guided treatment selection have shown promising results in overcoming resistance.

Conclusion: Precision oncology has revolutionized cancer treatment, but further research is required to address resistance mechanisms and improve accessibility. Personalized treatment strategies remain key to optimizing outcomes.
