Publication Ethics

Principles and responsibilities

The Journal of Health and Education (JOHE) requires honest, transparent and accountable research and publication. Authors, reviewers, editors and the publisher share responsibility for maintaining the scholarly record. Editorial handling of ethical concerns is informed by relevant Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidance and the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). This statement does not imply organizational membership or accreditation.

Authors must submit authentic work, report methods and results accurately, obtain necessary ethical approvals and permissions, disclose funding and competing interests, and identify all eligible contributors. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, manipulated peer review, purchased authorship and deliberate concealment of relevant findings are unacceptable.

Editorial responsibilities

Editors must assess manuscripts fairly, protect confidentiality, manage competing interests and make decisions on scholarly and ethical grounds. Reviewers must provide independent, constructive assessments and disclose circumstances affecting their impartiality. The publisher supports editorial independence and appropriate correction of the published record.

Raising a concern

Send concerns to info@johe.pk with the manuscript number or article title, a clear explanation and supporting evidence. Reports are assessed on their substance, including reports submitted anonymously. Information is shared only as necessary for a fair investigation. Authors are given an opportunity to respond; unresolved concerns may be referred to the relevant institution or research integrity body.
